This is the second part of that discussion. A discussion of Vietnam and the issue of communism. Good show with Gene Simmons, the always thoughtful Christopher Hitchens, Whoopi Goldberg and Dennis Prager. Bill Goes against convention wisdom and states that the Vietnam war may not have been a waist like every one thinks. I have to admit I don’t quite know where I stand on whether that war was worth it myself.

Goldberg has not lived in East Germany. She was a guest from America and was free to leave anytime she wanted. I wish someone would just shoot her. Every time she opens her mouth she shows how stupid she is. Her best talent is making blacks believe it is OK to lie and make up stories. How could she possibly know what it was like to live as a guest in East Berlin? She did not have to sneak out, she was free to leave any time.I served in Germany from 76 to 80. She is so full of shit.

Gene simmons is also fucked. He says he doesnt agree with media and see’s it as polarizing america. Then he bases his arguments on very biased and incorrect information derived from the media (demonizing communism because of Stalin and Mao and what not—when in reality neither were communist–America media just dubbed it that) Why would they think he would know what he’s talking about?

How fucked is Bill mauher? He thinks that sending people out to thier needless deaths (yet not telling them its needless) is ok because it shows how dedicated we are to being nonsensical fanatics.—Its like a person who would shoot themselves in the leg to show how tough they are. Nobodys gunna actualy be impressed–just the dude who shot himself will be impressed with himself—while everyone else thinks he’s a fucking idiot. So america sends those people to prove a point that has no bearing

@flx2525 I think she is trying to say that the ordinary people living in former GDR and the ordinary people living in the US were not so different and the US should have a very good reason before it asked them to go of and die in some foreign war. At least I think this is what she is saying as she keeps moving from point to point and is not very clear. But I think she perhaps is also saying maybe communism wasn’t such a threat. I am trying to read between the lines a bit though.

The Nelson Mandela point was a good one shame it went unnoticed or it was deliberately ducked it’s hard to tell which but Hitchens should have pressed it a bit more tried to make them answer it.

Communism is evil? I love Bill’s shows, but fuck that. Only people that were threatened by communism were multi billionares in the west, because the general idea of comunism is “From everyone according to their abilities, to everyone according to their needs”. And that motto is the worst nightmare of the coorporate ftcats all over the west, not only the US.

It’s interesting how sometimes body count is all people talk about, but other times they ignore it. Communist killed loads of people, so did the nazis. But hey, guess what, so did the Americans. Remember those two little places called Hiroshima and Nagasaki. How about the napalm bombing of Tokio? How many civilians did the US bombings kill in Dresden (a NON MILITARY town)… and as I type this, Dresden is being mentioned, nice to finally hear it.

I’m surprised that in this talk the word ‘totalitarianism’ was not brought up, like what Whoopie said in the earlier clip, the theory of communism is the right way to go, and I’ll add, but bad things happen when totalitarian states try to enforce their authority while calling themselves communist. I believe in the virtues of communism, not in totalitarianism, which I believe is the ‘evil’ that the west was really fighting. I’m open to correction, anyone agree or disagree with me?

Goldberg didn’t LIVE in East Germany. She was an American guest and was free to leave anytime she wanted. That’s a huge difference. Did she read her STASI files? Because I’m sure there are at least 10 folders about her… is she promoting communism? I don’t get what she tries to tell us. I know people from East Germany and they don’t have anything good to say about the GDR as a political system.

Why is Maher acting as if America ended the Cold War? Gorbachev ended the f—–g Cold War. Am I missing something (a distinct possibility; I often do) or is the fact that no one is pointing this out serious chauvinism?
